  • MISSION:   To provide a group dedicated to Linux users in Lincoln County and open to the Greater St. Louis Area.

GOALS:   To promote use of free open source GNU/Linux computer network operating systems for PC desktops, workstations and servers. To help computer users evaluate, use and enjoy a free non-commercial Internet capable Unix-like computer operating system and applications.

PURPOSE:   This group will be a not for profit, vendor-independent organization dedicated to promoting the Linux operating system. It will be oriented toward and geared to the needs of the Linux user wanting to study for the LPI exams, while welcoming the new Linux user (the newcomer) by providing introductory level information and one on one assistance. It will provide a forum for exchanging information about systems, products, services and architectures related to Linux.

MEMBERSHIP:   Show up, look, listen, learn, participate and you will be a member. All meetings are freeand open to the public.

    MEETINGS:

The general activities start with discussions that often cover Linux Professional Institute (LPI) topics. Focusing on these topics is a great way to increase individual skills and knowledge of Linux, so coverage is appropriate for beginners and intermediate users as well. When this occurs it is referred to as LPI Study Group session. Occasionally, there will be a special project that supersedes everything.
The general activities portion of the meetings will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

The presentation or tutorial portion of the meetings will be held from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM.

The hardware issues portion of the meetings will be held from 10:30 AM to NOON.

We generally break for lunch as a group at NOON, or you can stay behind to surf the Internet on our high speed wireless connection. From NOON on the meeting is free format and can go until 4:00 PM.

The next few Ol' MO' LUG meetings will be held:
